But the first and last parts of the season have some of the strongest episodes I've yet reached (I'm currently in the middle of Season Three). The opening 3-parter, Necessary Evil, and pretty much everything from "The Maquis" 2-parter to the season's end are flatly terrific.jp_halthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10437650074803375984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5464023093957032552.post-32077491482270064542011-12-14T00:27:24.663-08:002011-12-14T00:27:24.663-08:00I've been enjoying reading your reviews.
I wa...I've been enjoying reading your reviews.

I watched the series as a kid only when it was in reruns and then on DVD. The show left an impact on me, and is my favorite tv series. Recently I decided to start watching the series again, from the beginning. It is fascinating how just 7 years or so has given me a different perspective on the show.

So I just wanted to say, I look forward to watching the series with you, and reading your reviews as a new viewer. Unlike many reviews I have seen online yours are honest and you are willing to reveal the show's flaws. You also point out the series strengths when it deserves the compliments. It has been fun comparing your notes to mine.

One thing that struck me about Season 1 is how fleshed out the characters were. Even from the very first episode, the characters seemed to fit well into their roles and the actors actually appeared to understand them. A few kinks were worked out, but of all the Star Trek's Deep Space Nine starts out the strongest. I think it can all be attributed to the writing and performances. "Duet" is a great piece of television; rarely do shows have such strong episodes so early on.

For me, "The Passenger" was the worst episode of the season. I actually fell asleep while watching it. I was tired, but there was so little in it to keep me interested, as it was so predictable and pointless.

I look forward to watching Season 2!Michael Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12713845370034366513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5464023093957032552.post-7613024836293461642011-09-14T16:29:06.295-07:002011-09-14T16:29:06.295-07:00After a particularly uneventful evening I was read...After a particularly uneventful evening I was reading a review of a science fiction show that had a nice table for ratings and fan reviews. So, I kind of thought that it might be a good idea to do one for this site. It won't be as detailed, but hopefully it won't be an eyesore.

Best DS9 Season One Episode(s):
Duet (10)

Worst DS9 Season One Epsiode(s):
Nagus (3)

Total Score:
137 Points given to 20 episodes

Average Score:
6.85Dennis Murphyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16573053926571414876noreply@blogger.com
